PEO Broker
Position Overview:
Seeking a PEO Broker to launch and grow an agencys benefits division from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to spearhead a new business line within an agency that already has a solid base of clients ready for cross-selling group health and ancillary products. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial producer who thrives in a builders environment and seeks the opportunity to eventually manage a team. The position is remote (first month or so spending time in the office) with occasional travel to client sites or the agency office as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the group benefits division from initial sales efforts to long-term strategy and structure.
- Identify cross-sell opportunities within the existing commercial lines book of business.
- Prospect consult and close new group benefits accounts (including group health dental vision life disability and voluntary benefits).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carrier partners.
- Provide consultative guidance to business owners and HR leaders on plan design compliance and cost-management strategies.
- Coordinate enrollment meetings and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new group clients.
- Over time assist in hiring and training an account manager to handle service and renewals as the book grows.
Qualifications:
- 510 years of experience in group benefits sales or consulting.
- Strong knowledge of group health and ancillary benefit products.
- Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses; cross-selling experience a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and strategically.
- Holds an active L&H (Life and Health) insurance license (NY license preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication presentation and client relationship skills.
- Familiarity with major group benefits carriers and platforms.
