The Tool Shop Technician is responsible for the organization issuance maintenance and inventory of tools equipment and uniforms used in the production facility. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring tools are available in good condition and properly tracked.
Key Activities - Issue and receive tools and equipment to/from production personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of tool usage and inventory using manual logs or digital systems.
- Inspect tools for wear or damage and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Basic calibration of tools.
- Coordinate with other TSAs to issue manage and stock uniform inventory.
- Organize and maintain the tool crib or tool room in a clean and orderly manner.
- Assist in periodic inventory counts and audits.
- Label store and track tools using barcoding or RFID systems (if applicable).
- Communicate with production and maintenance teams to ensure tool availability.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure tools are stored and handled safely.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to tool management.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- Industrial production setting with exposure to machinery and tools.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- May involve occasional work in hot cold or noisy environments.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools power tools and industrial equipment.
- Ability to use Microsoft office suite.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
