Actuarial Associate
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Actuarial Associate to join a dynamic team. This is a remote position offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of insurance products including Property Workers Compensation General Liability Commercial Auto and Professional Liability. Reporting to the Chief Actuary the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in performing and communicating actuarial analyses providing actionable insights and collaborating across teams to drive data-informed decisions.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $125000 - $155000 annually bonus opportunities

Responsibilities
- Conduct profitability analyses and develop indications for various insurance lines of business.
- Assist in analyzing and implementing changes to existing insurance products and developing new products.
- Translate analytical findings into actionable insights and effectively communicate results to both actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders.
- Identify trends anomalies and data quality issues providing thoughtful recommendations.
- Research new business opportunities and analyze data to advise senior management on profitable business segments.
- Monitor financial and underwriting results to identify emerging trends and risks.
- Create forecasts and estimates summarizing findings in detailed reports.
- Develop and maintain rating economic and other models using best practices and statistical techniques.
- Collaborate with peers to share knowledge review work and improve team processes.
- Recommend changes to products pricing and risk management to support market share growth and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external standards and requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science Mathematics Statistics Economics or a related field.
- 4 to 7 years of Property & Casualty (P&C) actuarial experience preferably in commercial lines pricing.
- Progress toward ACAS designation with a minimum of 5 exams passed.
- Strong knowledge of insurance rate-making methodologies and pricing techniques.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts related to P&C insurance.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation; experience with R or Python is a plus.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI Qlik or Tableau is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- Strong presentation verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings and engage in collaborative discussions.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative in identifying next steps and driving work to completion.
