The purpose of this position is to supervise coordinate and direct the work of professional or non-professional park and recreation staff involved in the day-to-day operation administration construction and maintenance of a State Park site. The incumbent of this position demonstrates superior seamless customer service integrity and commitment to innovation efficiency and fiscally responsible activity.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in the operation administration or maintenance of parks outdoor recreation or historic sites; or in parks or conservation work; OR
Four years of experience in law enforcement interpretive services mobile equipment operation building construction or maintenance.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Oversees the maintenance and care of site facilities.
- Approves and promotes site programming/events.
- Performs regularly scheduled overall park and playground inspections.
- Manages park facility expenditures.
- Coordinates major park maintenance or construction projects with Resource Development staff.
- Works directly with local law enforcement to control violence and vandalism.
- Works with appropriate personnel in other sections and departments and outside contractors regarding major maintenance and development of buildings water systems roadways or other facilities
- Works with neighborhood and community groups on matters of civic park and recreational interest
- Prepares plans specifications contract documents and cost estimates for projects programs and equipment.
- Serves as a liaison for the site with outside agencies in matters pertaining to the worksite.
- Prepares and administers site budget.
- Accountable for the collection and deposit of all revenue generated at the site through day use and overnight fees.
- Prepares weekly fiscal revenue and visitation reports.
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments setting priorities and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments work techniques and documentation of that performance with the use of the Departmental PES
- Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
