Your role will be to work under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCO to support the learning progress and inclusion of pupils particularly those with additional needs ensuring that all pupils can fully access the curriculum and achieve success within a Christ-centred environment.

Key Responsibilities
Support for Pupils:
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and encourage their independence self-esteem and social inclusion.
- Provide targeted support to individuals or small groups including those with SEND or additional needs.
- Promote positive behaviour in line with academy policy and Gospel values.
- Encourage pupils to engage in learning activities and help them to stay on task.
Support for Teachers:
- Work closely with teachers to implement lesson plans and learning activities.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining learning resources materials and classroom displays.
- Provide feedback on pupils progress and behaviour to the teacher/SENCO.
- Help to maintain an orderly and purposeful learning environment.
Support for the Curriculum:
- Deliver specific learning interventions under the direction of the teacher or SENCO.
- Support literacy numeracy and other subject-based activities.
- Assist with the use of ICT and other learning aids to support pupil progress.
Support for the Academy:
- Contribute to the Catholic life of the school by upholding and promoting its ethos and values.
- Accompany staff and pupils on educational visits Mass liturgies and other academy activities.
- Supervise pupils at break/lunchtimes as required.
- Undertake professional development relevant to the role.
- Respect confidentiality in relation to all matters involving the school community.
General Requirements
- Support and actively promote the Catholic ethos and mission of the academy.
- Attend staff meetings INSET and training as directed.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding child protection health & safety confidentiality and equal opportunities.
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the role and grade as required.
Skills and Attributes
- Experience of working with young people in a school or similar setting.
- Good literacy numeracy and ICT skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the academy.
Education and Qualifications
Maths and English at GCSE level A-C (4-9) or functional skills equivalent.
