Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse to join our Bank Pre-Assessment Team.

The Bank Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse will be responsible for the running of a high quality and effective pre-assessment service that provides the highest standards of care safety and service to patients.

We have shifts available MondayFriday from 08:00 to 16:00 or from 10:00 to 18:00.

What will your duties include

  • Working autonomously completes POA for a caseload of patients undertaking a targeted history with assessment of past medical operative and anaesthetic history.
  • Provide specialist clinical advice and support to all Caregivers and encourage best practice.
  • Act as a professional leader and role model in all aspects of work.
  • Undertake and review weight/height/swabs blood sugar BMI measurements ECG blood results and urinalysis in line with individual patient needs and pathways. Where appropriate initiates referrals to relevant teams.
  • Identifies patients with specific health issues and undertakes relevant risk scoring where indicated and manages the results.

What we need from you

  • Bachelors degree in nursing.
  • Current nursing registration (First Level) through the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) required with no restrictions to practice.
  • Evidence of recent study in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in the pre-operative setting.
  • Experience in an acute private hospital/OP (Desirable)
  • ILS provider course completed and qualification in required upon hire or within 3 months of hire.
