Job Summary

  • Provide financial counselling & assistance to consumers
  • Access salary packaging to increase take-home pay
  • Parttime (60.8 hours per fortnight) Maximum Term to 30 June 2026
  • Based in Epping
Your new role

As a Financial Counsellor you will deliver high-quality financial counselling by providing information practical assistance and advocacy to help improve clients financial situations.

You will support clients as they navigate financial crises and work with them to build long-term financial wellbeing capability financial literacy and resilience. You will also facilitate referrals to other internal services and community support networks to ensure your clients and families receive the comprehensive support they need.

Your skills and experience
  • Diploma of Financial Counselling
  • Member of Financial Counselling Victoria
  • Experience in a financial counselling or related role and an understanding of issues relevant to the community service sector.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide energy and/or financial literacy information to residential households community groups and other related organisations
  • Knowledge of casework issues as related to the target group including an awareness of financial hardship family violence and cultural sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of policies and practices of major creditors and the ability to identify the appropriate legislation which applies to particular debts
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant hardship policies practices and services
