Im working with a welcoming and inclusive SEND school in Enfield and they are seeking a compassionate reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The school works with pupils who have a range of needs including Autism ADHD speech and language delays sensory processing needs learning difficulties and SEMH needs.
The pupils are curious capable and full of potential. What makes the biggest difference for them is structure understanding and adults who genuinely care.
This is a setting where staff stay calm stay consistent and never stop believing in their pupils.
Your role will include:
Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups across a range of SEND needs
Adapting activities to suit individual learning styles and EHCP targets
Using visual supports routines and structured strategies to aid understanding
Helping pupils regulate emotions manage transitions and stay engaged
Working closely with the class teacher SENCO and therapists
Supporting communication development using appropriate tools (PECS basic Makaton visuals)
Encouraging independence confidence and positive social interaction
Creating a calm safe and nurturing environment where pupils feel secure
