Job Summary

Title: Guest House Front Desk Agent
Pay Rate Range: $25.00 $27.50/hr (DOE)
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Full-time variable shifts (primarily evenings & weekends; typical shift 2:00/2:30 PM 10:30/11:00 PM; some day shifts 6:30 AM 2:30 PM as needed)

Tekberry is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Guest House Front Desk Agent to work onsite with our client a premier university-operated hotel and guest this role you will provide hotel-style front desk and concierge service at a 24/7 operation supporting guests that include visiting scholars researchers executives and other campus visitors.

Responsibilities Front Desk & Guest Services (50%)
  • Provide warm professional and courteous service to all guests at a 24-hour front desk.

  • Answer multiple phone lines in a fast-paced environment; relay messages between guests and staff as needed.

  • Handle check-in and check-out processes room changes and extensions in accordance with established procedures.

  • Coordinate and respond to email inquiries related to reservations travel details and guest needs.

  • Provide basic concierge assistance (campus directions local amenities dining transportation options etc.).

Hotel Operations & Concierge Support (30%)
  • Make modify and cancel reservations using hotel systems and established guidelines.

  • Assist guests with travel and transportation arrangements including local shuttles ride shares and campus navigation.

  • Coordinate guest services such as dry cleaning package handling and safe deposit access.

  • Perform basic porter duties: deliver packages mail faxes and assist with luggage transport and storage.

  • Escort guests to rooms when needed and ensure a welcoming informative arrival experience.

Safety Driving & Administration (20%)
  • Drive a shuttle van or golf cart to transport guests or move between campus locations (3 6 hours per week on average).

  • Monitor building access and key control; report safety or maintenance issues and submit minor repair work orders.

  • Coordinate room readiness and communicate with housekeeping to support smooth turnover and guest satisfaction.

  • Review daily transactions for accuracy and prepare billing/folios for financial processing.

  • Follow all Stanford and department policies including safety confidentiality and vehicle operation requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 6 months of customer service experience in a fast-paced hospitality or front desk environment (hotel resort guest services or similar).

  • Valid California Non-Commercial Class C Drivers License and ability to pass an MVR for driving guests (van or golf cart) day or night.

  • English fluency (written and verbal) and strong clear communication skills.

  • Demonstrated accurate cash handling skills and experience.

  • Basic computer and typing skills (email calendar reservation systems MS Office or similar).

  • Professional calm demeanor with the ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 2 years of hotel front desk concierge or guest services experience.

  • Prior experience in a university conference center or 24/7 hospitality environment.

  • Strong business writing skills for responding to guest emails and internal correspondence.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Onsite role at Stanford campus guest house / hotel.

  • Variable schedule including evenings weekends and holidays as part of a 24/7 operation.

  • Constant standing/walking during an 8-hour shift and frequent computer phone and in-person interaction.

  • Ability to occasionally lift carry push or pull luggage and other items weighing 21 40 lbs (and rarely more than 40 lbs).
