Job Summary
Our client a leading steel manufacturing company with a strong global footprint in the steelworks industry is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee operations at their Vanderbijlpark site. This role is ideal for a strong leader with extensive site management experience particularly in heavy equipment / yellow equipment environments and a proven ability to drive safety efficiency and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site activities to ensure safety productivity and compliance.
- Compile and present detailed operational and compliance reports.
- Foster a high-performance culture through employee motivation and development.
- Enforce discipline and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with technical and support teams to optimize site performance.
- Analyse equipment performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with operations to minimise downtime and production losses.
- Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental (HSE) standards and legal requirements.
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets forecasts and cost-control measures.
Requirements
- 7 years’ experience as a Site Manager ideally in yellow equipment / heavy equipment / steelworks / industrial environments.
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Project Management and/or Engineering qualification.
- Proven project management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Outlook Excel).
- Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
