As the HousingAffordability Policy Analyst with Family and Community Services you will play a key role inadvancing strategic evidence-informed policy responses to housing-related issues and opportunities in Strathcona this position you will help advance Strathcona Countys strategic goals by developing and implementing innovative municipal policies and initiatives that promote housing affordability and support individuals and populations experiencing housing insecurity or houselessness.
With a strong focus on policy research data analysis and strategic planning you will bring clarity to complex challenges strengthen regional and community partnerships and mobilize action to improve housing affordability and support individuals experiencing housing insecurity in Strathcona this role you will help translate data community input and best practices into meaningful actionable policy solutions that advance Council priorities and community well-being.
The successful candidate will possess a broad set of skills that support all aspects of project planning coordination evaluation and the implementation of housing-focused strategies and practices. This position will collaborate with internal and external partners to develop initiatives that respond to emerging housing needs and opportunities strengthen regional partnerships and mobilize action to improve housing affordability and security.

Responsibilities:
Develop implement and evaluate housing-related policies strategies and initiatives that align with Council priorities and community goals.
Conduct research and analyze housing market data (e.g. vacancy rates rental trends population growth and affordability indicators) to inform policy decisions.
Engage internal departments community partners and stakeholders to support collaborative inclusive approaches to housing solutions.
Monitor best practices trends and funding opportunities related to housing affordability and insecurity.
Build and maintain a centralized repository of housing data to support evidence-based decision-making.
Prepare reports briefing notes and recommendations for senior leadership.
Manage multiple concurrent projects ensuring progress and alignment with departmental priorities.
Support communication and engagement efforts related to housing initiatives.
Contribute to other social priority areas beyond housing as needed by providing research policy advice and collaborative support.
Qualificationsand Skills:
Bachelors degree in a related field such as geography planning public policy or social sciences.
Minimum two years experience in a housing-related or policy development role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong understanding of housing markets affordability indicators and community housing needs.
Proven ability to research analyze data and evaluate programs to support evidence-informed policy.
Demonstrated project management and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing reports and briefing materials.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
