We are currently hiring for a Quality Supervisor at our largest plant in Knoxville TN.
Job Summary: The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for oversight at a departmental level for all Quality Control floor technicians and assisting with all quality related programs and procedures at the manufacturing facility. This position also requires Quality Control data entry and management skills auditing skills and control over product specifications.
- Ongoing Quality Program management ensuring HACCP/FDA rules are being respected in all divisions.
- Ensures the operation is providing food-safe quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Assists in planning organizing directing controlling and evaluating activities related to various quality programs.
- Participates and takes the lead in food safety audits and performs internal plant audits as needed.
- Trains supervises and develops employees as it relates to Food Safety and Quality procedures.
- Oversees and supports Quality Control technicians and production providing back up as needed.
- Reviews daily Quality Control paperwork for errors and omissions.
- Manages Quality Control databases including Specification sheets and data testing.
- Assists in Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) planning and execution.
- Provides Quality Control data entry as requested.
- Oversees Quality Documentation program and procedures.
- Supports food safety quality and legality.
- Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training. Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment tools and person. Reports any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
- Supports and complies with GMPs. Understands and follows emergency action plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Food Science Food Technology or related field strongly preferred.
- 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment focused on quality assurance.
- A minimum of three years of supervisory experience leading coaching and developing a team.
- Demonstrated experience writing implementing and maintaining HACCP plans.
- Strong analysis problem solving and decision-making skills. Perform root cause analysis and follow up with corrective actions.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Energetic flexible and have ability to work alone and in a team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work well with cross functional departments within the organization.
- Become certified in Six Sigma to a yellow belt level.
- Ability to travel as needed for training and development.
