The Department of Physics seeks ahigh-level technician with an academic backgroundfor designing developing and operating scientific experiments/equipment for atomic-scale explorations within catalysis of chemical reactions in theDanish National Research FoundationCenter for Visualizing Catalytic Processes (VISION). The main objective of VISION is to visualize nano-scale materials for catalysis at the atomic-scale using advanced electron microscopy in order to investigate the fundamental relation of surface structure and catalytic activity with the perspective of developing new and more efficient catalysts for the green transition.
The job
The successful candidate will engage with our advanced electron microscopy instrumentation ensuring continuation in the operation the equipment methods and the candidate will be responsible forthe operation maintenance and safety of our new electron microscopy laboratory facilities including a new state-of-the-art transmission electron microscope and advanced microfabricated devices. The candidate will also participate in developing instrumentation and experiments used in VISION andengage in the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure as well as quantitative data acquisition and analysis methods. Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a PhD degree in physicsor similar relevant experienceand have documented extended hands-on experience with transmission electron microscopy surface science methods micro-electro-mechanical system technology 2D materials and/or catalysis. Experience in Python and LabView programming for developing new codes is an advantage. The person must be able to communicate clearly in Danish and English be out-reaching and service-minded as well as be creative patient and always be seeking new and improved methods.

Salary and appointment terms
