Accounting Specialist
Position: Accounting Specialist (Accounts Payable)

Position Overview:
The Accounting Specialist emphasis in Accounts Payable will be an integral member of the Accounting Department for our mission-focused organization.
Essential Functions:
- Process accounts payable expense reports cash advancesand posting of transactions to the general ledger.
Materials and Equipment Used:
- Computer copier telephone fax machine and other office equipment as needed.
Physical Activities and Requirements:
- Physical requirements include reaching standing walking fingering grasping lifting talking hearing repetitive motions computer keyboarding driving a motor vehicle. Must be able to sit and work at a computer keyboard and be able to perform repetitive and stretching motions. While in the office work is usually sedentary. There may be a need for occasional heavy lifting of boxes files and equipment (up to 30 pounds). Needs to maintain current drivers license and automotive insurance and from time to time may need to drive own personal motor vehicle for council business (to be reimbursed for mileage at current IRS-approved rate).
Mental Demands:
- Reading detail work confidentiality problem solving language training math reasoning verbal communication written communication customer contact multiple concurrent tasks frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment continual change.
Working Conditions:
- The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. When visiting council camps the employee may be exposed to some special adverse environmental conditions.
Working Relationships Supervision Volunteer Relations:
- Recognize the importance of a good working relationship with other staff members. Recognize the importance of a close and harmonious working relationship with all volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Possess high school education or equivalent.
- An associate or higher degree in accounting with work experience in accounts payable preferred.
- Experience with PeopleSoft general ledger software is a plus.
- Candidates must have integrity superior organizational skills ability to communicate effectively be a team player and have a strong work ethic.
- This is a full-time office-based position.
Salary: $45000 annually
