The General Manager performs the following duties and responsibilities:
- is responsible for strict compliance with institutional policies and legal regulations to protect confidential information about students processed within the Divisions mandate;
- coordinates the works pertaining the students grades management and student records displayed in transcripts in Student Information System (SIS);
- ensures timely submission of final grades and mid-term grades by faculty members;
- generates and shares Mid-Term and End-of-Term Reports subsequently collecting and outputting the follow-up resolutions from schools in student records;
- updates the year-of-study parameter for students on a semester and annual basis;
- provides technical expertise and assistance in verifying students records and their updated GPAs for the preparation of key reports generated by the Bursars Office (Stipend List Report) and the Health and Well-being Department (Students Medical Insurance List Report);
- coordinates data migration of newly admitted students from the admissions database to the registrar database in collaboration with the Admissions Department Schools and IT Department;
- coordinates the creation of student accounts and the accurate entry of student information in SIS for students enrolling at NU within Student Mobility Programs;
- within the area of responsibility and expertise handles ad-hoc daily monthly quarterly reports and data requests from the University Leadership and departments involved in economic/academic planning and budgeting Bursars Office and other units and from external stakeholders including state bodies agencies embassies and local governmental authorities;
- establishes the needs of users and monitors user access and security in SIS;
- as a point person organizes and manages the works related to data migration and management of the Universitys students records to the National Educational Database (NED) and Unified Higher Education Platform (UHEP) of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan;
- creates documentation including user manuals and procedural manuals pertaining to specific areas and processes within his/her responsibilities;
- stays up-to-date with the latest process and information technology advancements to enhance the Divisions experience in data utilization;
- automates repetitive processes through efficient system usage and provides technical expertise to respective staff and project teams;
- collects cleans and processes data sets to ensure data accuracy and integrity;
- assists the Divisions Leadership with data analysis required for the decision-making framework;
- is responsible for strict compliance with institutional policies and legal regulations to protect confidential information about students processed within the Divisions mandate;
- timely and properly executes the tasks of the line manager and the Universitys management;
- observes the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Employers internal documents;
- is responsible for exercising the labor and performance discipline;
- is responsible for ensuring the integrity of official documents and prevention of the disclosure or leakage of confidential and business information as well as information of restricted access in accordance with the legislation Charter and internal documents of the Employer;
- in case of dismissal is responsible for timely transfer of all paper documentation digital information inventory to another employee as instructed by the line manager (to be certified by the act of acceptance-transfer).
Qualifications :
Education
- Higher-professional preferable from the higher education institutions with the English language of instruction.
- Masters degree and bachelors degree preferably in computer science database management statistics economics mathematics or a related field.
- Customer-oriented mindset and effective communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality and integrity.
Work experience
- A minimum of seven years with a masters degree three of them as a supervisor;
- Or a minimum of five years with a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in data analytics and reporting is highly desirable
- experience in using database systems and manipulating data.
- knowledge and experience in data management analytical reporting data export and import query generating and data visualization
- work experience in Higher Education Institutions Student Information Systems.
