The Role
Birmingham is in an unprecedented period of transformational change. As a consequence of the Citys economic growth regeneration and transformation there has been a significant increase in street works activity on our highway network. It is anticipated that there will be further major utility works new developments and transportation projects over the coming years in order to accommodate future growth.
The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Network Management & Highway Approvals Team. They will assist the Head of Network Management in the delivery of a coordinated planned and effective response to the Network Management Duty across the whole organisation as contained within the requirements of the Traffic Management Act 2004; and take a lead role in ensuring that the team is constantly improving through the implementation of innovative data solutions.
The postholder will report to the Head of Network Management. They will provide trusted guidance and advice in all matters of data and innovation in relation to street works. They will be Birminghams representative and encouraged to find innovative solutions in partnership with external organisations such as WMCA and DfT.
