Job Summary

Position Summary: To assist the Pharmacy Manager and the Staff Pharmacist in the routine tasks associated with the delivery of pharmacy services and to provide technical and clerical support for thePharmacy Department.

Excellence in Practice:
  • Upon patient discharge reconciles pharmacy charges and the medication administration record.
  • Utilizes available programs to maintainpharmacy organization and continuity.
  • Processes medication orders from actualcopies of original physicians orders orthe Emergency Department dispensinginformation.
  • Follows medication and supply orderingand receiving procedures and medicationusage patterns to assure the maintenanceof adequate inventory levels at all times.
  • Provides stock medications to NursingServices Ancillary Services and the ClinicNetwork in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Prepares IV admixtures/general cart orindividual filling of medications for dispensingto be checked by the pharmacist and cleaningof the isolators and medication carts;re-packages medications into unit-of-use packaging as needed.
  • Follows system for tracking and removingoutdated medication in the pharmacy anddoes monthly floor inspections in designatedareas of the hospital where medications arestored and removes all outdated medicationsin these areas also.
  • Participates in the annual physicalinventory of all medications at the end of the year.
  • Maintains controlled substances inaccordance with WRHS policies NDBOP law and DEA law.
  • Maintains the departmental pricing systemand provides price change information to thePharmacy Manager; maintains thedepartmental filing and charging system for all accounts.
  • Helps collect and compile data forQuality Improvement studies.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma with a strong background in math typing and computers also has successfully completed an academic program or an on-the-job program approved by the Board of Pharmacy.
Experience: Minimum of one year experience is required.
License Requirements: Must be a currently registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing withthe North Dakota State Board of Pharmacy

Will consider part time or full time.
Normal working hours: 8am - 5pm
