The Financial Analyst role is a highly visible role providing exposure to various finance functions. Reporting to the Manager Finance within the Media finance team. The Financial Analyst will be involved in the monthly financial reporting process automation process improvement financial planning analysis forecasting and budgeting along with other ad hoc reporting and analysis needs. The Financial Analyst works as an extension of the Manager Finance.
This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office per week). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street Toronto.
Responsibilities:
Prepare internal and external financial reports commentary analysis and presentation decks including monthly/quarterly financial reporting package.
Perform monthly quarterly and annual accounting activities including analysis accruals reconciliations and journal entries
Other responsibilities as assigned. Could include;
Assist with budget/forecast models
Processing financial transactions
Assist with internal/external audit requests by collecting audit documentation for management review
Ad hoc analysis
AR and Collections Support
Develop tools and capabilities to increase efficiencies through automation of manual tasks and elimination of redundancies for processes across entire finance team.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education with focus on Finance Business Admin and/or Accounting
Professional Designation (CPA CFA or equivalent) candidate or enrollment in program
1-4 years of hands on experience in a finance or analyst role
Experience using PeopleSoft accounting system would be considered an asset
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Strong customer service verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel Word PPT Power Automate PowerBI).
Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Management reporting experience and the ability to evaluate performance on both financial and non-financial measures
