Role Background

Our Wellbeing Team supports adults across Bradford District & Craven through a range of group sessions and activities. From creative activities to structured support programmes we support people to take care of their emotional and mental wellbeing.

Role Purpose

Were looking for a committed proactive and enthusiastic person to join our team as a relief worker. As a relief practitioner you will work with colleagues across the team to support facilitate our Wellbeing Groups to cover staff absence and annual leave. Flexibility to work various shifts within the week sometimes on short notice is essential for this role.

In this role youll be part of a supportive team where collaboration and positivity are key. Qualifications

Essential:

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience supporting adults within a mental health social care or other relevant setting
  • Experience in managing challenging situations and recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns
  • Experience of using an electronic recording system for service member details

Skills and Abilities

Essential:

  • Excellent proven communication and organisational skills including an ability to encourage and engage people in ways to make positive changes in their lives
  • Ability to uphold professional boundaries at all times
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues across the service
  • Ability to use initiative and be proactive
  • Ability to complete relevant administrative tasks such as group bookings case studies case notes and incident forms
  • Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft Packages

Desirable:

  • Ability to develop new resources for Wellbeing Sessions

Knowledge

Essential:

  • Understanding of the key issues within mental health and the potential challenges that people may face
  • Knowledge of risk management and health and safety issues
  • Understanding of safeguarding and good practice
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • Experience facilitating group settings and managing group dynamics
  • Experience planning and delivering sessions and activities focused around wellbeing

Desirable:

  • Awareness and knowledge of Severe Mental Illness (SMI)
  • Knowledge of other relevant health & social care organisations across the Bradford District & Craven
