Job Summary

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented *Accessibility Remediation Specialist* to review and update

Microsoft Word and PDF documents to meet ADA WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility

standards. This role ensures our public-facing documents are fully accessible properly tagged and compliant with current accessibility guidelines.

*Key Responsibilities*

* Remediate Word and PDF documents for accessibility compliance

* Apply correct heading structure ALT text reading order tagging bookmarks and metadata

* Convert documents cleanly between Word and PDF while maintaining accessibility

* Identify accessibility issues and correct formatting problems

* Communicate with content owners to clarify intent or resolve issues

* Ensure all deliverables meet Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards

* Use Accessibility Checkers to validate documents

*Required Skills & Qualifications*

* Strong knowledge of *Microsoft Word accessibility features* (styles headings tables lists alt text)

* Advanced experience in *Adobe Acrobat Pro* (tagging reading order accessibility tools remediation)

* Understanding of *Section 508 WCAG 2.1 AA* and ADA requirements

* Ability to remediate complex documents including forms tables and multi-section reports

* High attention to detail and strong quality assurance skills

* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

* Experience with large organizations or government/public sector is a plus

*Preferred Skills (Optional)*

* Experience with *AEM Forms* *fillable PDFs* or form accessibility

* Knowledge of screen readers (JAWS NVDA)

* Experience writing accessibility reports or documenting remediation steps

Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
