About the Opportunity
Play a key role in managing and monitoring Councils extensive tree assets across urban public spaces parks gardens and rural road reserves. This position combines technical arboriculture expertise field-based inspections digital data collection and community service.
Youll work closely with our Senior Tree Management Officer internal stakeholders contractors and the broader Parks and Arboriculture team to deliver high-quality safe and cost-effective arboriculture programs that enhance the municipalitys natural environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced arborist looking to take the next step into a specialised inspection and assessment role within local government.
This role is a permanent full-time opportunity with a Fortnightly RDO. Remuneration begins at $81.3K to $92K (Band 5) plus superannuation.
About You
You will bring technical knowledge practical experience and a passion for delivering safe and sustainable arboriculture outcomes. Youll be comfortable both working independently and collaborating within a supportive team.
Were looking for someone with:
Qualifications in Arboriculture Certificate III in Arboriculture (essential) and/or Diploma of Arboriculture (preferred or working towards)
Experience in tree assessment hazard identification pruning and maintenance
Knowledge of Australian Standards AS 4373-2007 and AS 4970-2025
Strong ability to plan prioritise and meet service timeframes
Confidence using digital data collection tools GIS/mapping systems and Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills and a commitment to high-quality customer service
A current Victorian drivers licence
(Desirable) QTRA competency or willingness to obtain
(Desirable) Experience in local government
