About the Team/Service/ Location
Our department consists of ten Physicians in General Medicine with a wide variety of sub-speciality interests as well as an outpatient cardiology team specialist nurses and visiting sub-specialists. We are accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for Basic and Advanced Trainees.
Gisborne Hospital is a 110-bed acute care hospital that serves a wide geographical area extending up the East Cape of New Zealand creating enormous scope and variety in the clinical work. Providing healthcare to a population of 54000 Health NZ Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti is well supported locally by comprehensive surgical services and has a full range of diagnostic facilities on site including a new MRI scanner and CT scanner. We have strong ties with our tertiary referral centre in Waikato.
