Job Summary

A thriving and ambitious secondary school in Norwich is seeking a Science Technician to join their dedicated Science faculty for an immediate start. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in laboratory work scientific processes and practical lesson support to play a key role in a department that prides itself on high-quality teaching exciting practical demonstrations and outstanding student engagement across Biology Chemistry and Physics.

About the Role

As a Science Technician you will work closely with the Head of Science departmental teachers and fellow technicians to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school laboratories. The role requires organisation initiative and excellent attention to detail as you will be responsible for the preparation maintenance and safe handling of materials and equipment used during Science lessons.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and setting up practical resources and apparatus for lessons across KS3KS5
  • Ensuring all laboratory equipment is stored cleaned and maintained to a professional standard
  • Supporting teachers with demonstrations and experimental setups
  • Monitoring stock levels ordering materials and managing department inventory
  • Ensuring full compliance with COSHH CLEAPSS Health & Safety and risk assessment procedures
  • Assisting in the development of engaging classroom resources practical demonstrations and revision materials
  • Helping maintain an organised safe and inspiring Science environment for students

This position would suit someone with school experience laboratory background or a science qualificationbut the school is also happy to consider applicants with strong practical skills and a willingness to train.
