The Opportunity & Role Profile
This Outstanding academy requires an experienced Science Technician with a strong background in Physics. You will provide essential technical support to the Physics department ensuring that sophisticated practicals and demonstrations are delivered with precision and safety for students across all secondary key stages.
Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope
Technical Preparation: Setting up advanced apparatus for mechanics electricity and optics practicals including the calibration of digital data-logging sensors.
Safety & Compliance: Maintaining chemical and equipment inventories in strict accordance with CLEAPSS guidelines and performing regular PAT testing.
Lab Management: Coordinating the cleaning repair and storage of laboratory equipment and managing departmental stock orders.
Compensation & Benefits
Essential Requirements: Prior experience in a school laboratory or a strong scientific background in Physics. Specialist knowledge of safety protocols is essential.
Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale (expected 25000 - 31000 per annum).
