Job Summary
Primary Purpose
Uses SolidWorks to provide support to engineers by developing layouts drawings and designs that meet engineering specifications.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Work directly with design engineers to produce 3D models and 2D drawings
- Make revisions and corrections to existing drawings when requested and as needed
- Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers
- Work closely with the production plant to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free
- Further develops 3D models based on input from Design Engineers
- Actively participate in company and departmental continuous improvement programs
- May perform other duties as required and/or assigned

Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in the use of SolidWorks weldments through work experience or education
- Must have very proficient GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) skills with high confidence of its application; a minimum of 3 years required or a certificate of knowledge based skill sets both are preferred
- Understanding of sheet metal in manufacturing and ANSI Weld symbols
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill necessary as well as the ability to multitask and work in a strong team setting
- Strong attention to detail
- Preferred: Associates Degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting
