As a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer in the Transformation Engineering squad within our Technology Development department youll have the opportunity to shape how development teams across the organisation build deploy and operate applications on AWS.

Reporting directly to the Principal Transformation Engineer Youll design multi-squad infrastructure that needs to be both bulletproof and flexible balancing security requirements with developer velocity.

Your work will directly impact traders and investors worldwide and youll see the tangible results of your infrastructure decisions in real-time trading systems. Youll work with modern technologies (ECS Fargate Lambda Terraform CDK) and have the autonomy to introduce new tools and practices that genuinely improve how the organisation operates.

• Lead the designand evolution of secure resilientand cost-optimisedAWSarchitectures (cloud nativemulti-AZautoscaling graceful degradation failover capacity planning).

• Driveadoption ofAWS-native servicesandIaC(Terraform & CDK) to standardise platform componentsand reduce drift.

• Ownership ofallAWS base infrastructureacross multiple squads.

• Implement event-driven & streaming patterns ().urto

• Designandmaintaincontainerand serverless platforms (ECS Fargate LambdaAPI Gateway).

• Embed robust securityacross pipeline & runtime (least privilege IAM KMS encryption secret management policy-as-code runtime security & compliance checks).

• Lead incident response readiness: on-call playbooks simulations (GameDays) post-incident reviews with blameless cultureand systematic remediation tracking.

• Mentorand upskill .NETand TypeScript developers in reliability observability performanceand deployment best practices.

• Continuously improve CI/CD release workflows (GitHubActions) emphasising deployment frequency change failure rate reduction progressive delivery (feature flags / canaries)andautomated rollback.

• Configureandmaintainobservability stacks using GrafanaOpsgenieand Open Telemetry tomonitorapplicationsand infrastructure.

• Assistand Developers enhancing ourtoolingandautomation capabilities.

What will help you be successful

Were seeking a skilled DevOps or Platform Engineer with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure as code and modern automation practices. Youll bring at least five years of experience managing scalable cloud environments using services like ECS Lambda API Gateway and CloudWatch along with strong skills in Terraform AWS CDK and TypeScript ( as a bonus). A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines networking and cloud security frameworks is essential as is familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana and Opsgenie. Youll thrive in a fast-paced environment solving complex problems and collaborating across teams to deliver secure efficient and high-performing systems.

You must hold full working rights in Australia to be eligible for this role.
