Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall accounting function including cost accounting analysis cash management and forecasting financial reporting and balance sheet oversight.
- Ensure effective internal controls and policies are in place to safeguard company assets.
- Prepare and monitor budgets in coordination with internal departments.
- Provide clear and actionable analysis of management reports to support decision-making and profitability.
- Generate special reports by gathering analyzing and summarizing relevant data and trends.
- Prepare income statements oversee financial transactions and manage accounting system entries.
- Analyze business performance and develop financial plans and analyses.
- Maintain financial records in compliance with company policies and US GAAP standards.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Support external audits through periodic review of financial records.
- Manage compliance with government reporting and tax filing requirements at local state and federal levels.
- Continuously improve financial reporting processes for greater accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management including raw materials work in progress finished goods tooling and fixed assets.
- Evaluate inventory valuation to ensure correct cost allocations.
- Conduct cost and product costing analyses as needed.
- Supervise and lead accounting staff.
- Maintain and manage banking relationships.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting
- At least 5 years of combined experience in accounting costing and finance
- Minimum of 3 years in a management role
- Experience in manufacturing
- Experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end and year-end close processes
- Aerospace industry experience is ideal
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with integrated ERP systems with exposure to Plex software considered a plus
- Strong background in budgeting
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
