Under the general supervision and direction of the Maintenance Manager of Facility Services the incumbent performs general mechanical maintenance and repairs primarily within UWSPs academic facilities. Responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of general building envelope components such as windows doors walls flatwork and roofs. The incumbent also assists with basic remodeling projects including demolition of walls drop ceilings and flooring as well as the installation of carpet tile VCT tile ceramic tile and the assembly of modular office furniture fixtures and classroom equipment.
The incumbent must be able to operate and use tools and equipment skillfully and safely follow oral and written instructions and maintain daily computerized records. Additional expectations include prioritizing work assignments reading and interpreting plans and blueprints and maintaining positive and cooperative working relationships.

Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain standard machinery equipment and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
Troubleshoots escalates and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
Assists trades crafts vendors and technical staff with construction design and operational maintenance as needed
Performs routine facility inspections

Knowledge of safely operating power tools and hand tools.
Basic knowledge in replacing VCT/Carpet flooring drop ceiling tiles and vinyl base trim.
Basic knowledge of demolition equipment and required PPE.
Basic knowledge of assembling office furniture and office/classroom appliances.
Excellent customer service skills.
Basic knowledge of Roofing systems and repair techniques
Drivers License Must have for 2 years to be able to drive a state vehicle.
