The College of Pharmacys Proud History The College of Pharmacy welcomed its charter class into the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program in the Fall of 1996. The WesternU College of Pharmacy was the fourth college of pharmacy to be established in the state of California and prepares students in a humanistic interdisciplinary tradition to become competent qualified professionals. Graduates of WesternUs College of Pharmacy complement other healthcare team members by offering their expertise in comprehensive drug therapy management. Primary Purpose 1. Responsible for assisting in establishment of curriculum subject matter and methods of instruction and those aspects of student life which relate to the educational process. 2. Promote by precept and example a general atmosphere within the College of respect for knowledge thought and inquiry. 3. The faculty member has the right and obligation to participate in scheduled meetings of the General Faculty. Election to the Faculty Senate and election or appointment to committees should be considered a privilege and faculty members are encouraged to share in these responsibilities. 4. Contribute to the planning development and evaluation of courses and academic programs within the College. 5. Responsible for establishing clerkship rotations and serving as preceptor for Pharm.D. students. 6. Conduct/participate in pharmacy practice research endeavors. 7. Support the organizational goals and objectives of the College of Pharmacy and Western University of Health Sciences.
Required Qualifications
1. EDUCATION : Pharm.D. degree or Ph.D. degree in an appropriate discipline 2. EXPERIENCE : Consistent with current College promotion and tenure documents.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERENCES : Preference will be given to those individuals possessing experience in teaching and/or research; publications; and presentations.
