Graduate Environmental Scientist (Contamination Assessment & Remediation) - Tasmania

In Tasmania our Contamination Assessment & Remediation team is on the lookout for our next graduate in 2026! Based out of our Hobart office and with a degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering your interest in getting out into the field on a wide variety of projects throughout Tasmania and beyond will serve you in good stead in this position.

A little more about the role can be found below:

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Working with intermediate and senior staff implementing environmental investigations including conducting field investigations including drilling (various rig types) monitoring well and soil vapour installation oversight; conducting and coordination of environmental monitoring (soil sediment groundwater soil vapour surface water);
  • Field oversight of contractors;
  • Assistance with field scope development scheduling budgeting
  • Assistance with data compilation and interpretation
  • Preparation of technical environmental reports for senior review
  • Maintain safety training to conduct environmental contaminated sites work

Our two-year Graduate Development Program is designed to give you a smooth start to your consulting career. Alongside your peers managers and mentors well help you detangle any challenges along the way.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Will graduate by December 2025 with a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or equivalent
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in environmental consulting
  • Has a strong interest in chemistry soil groundwater contamination assessment and remediation methods.
  • Knowledge of contaminated sites regulation and associated guidance protocols and guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication is required to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors clients colleagues etc.
  • Strong technical writing data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Valid full drivers license and is comfortable with long distance and off-road driving (training will be provided)
