Public Skills Australia (PSA) has been appointed by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) as one of 10 Jobs and Skills Councils. PSA works with employer and employee representatives from the Public Safety and Government industry-sectors Police Fire and Emergency Services Correctional Services Defence and all levels of Government to ensure Australias vocational education and training (VET) system delivers better outcomes for learners and employers. A primary function of PSA is to provide workforce planning industry intelligence and training product development in support of industry needs and government priorities.
The VET Project Officer (Training Product Development) is accountable to the Manager Training Product Development and is part of the Training Team.
The position delivers primarily on Training Product Development and also helps with Implementation Promotion and Monitoring activities as outlined in the approved project plan.
This role is responsible for the delivery of several areas of work simultaneously. Key activities include:
Collaboration with subcontractors on program and project delivery.
Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with key industry partners.
Developing and piloting implementation programs to support industry-sector RTOs.
Developing high-quality reports and briefing papers.
Organising and facilitating various committee meetings.
Presenting high quality accurate verbal and written information to the Executive and internal and external industry stakeholders
Key selection criteria
1. Tertiary qualification(s) and/or equivalent experience relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
2. Working knowledge of Vocational Education and Training and/or compliance requirements as outlined in the Training Package Organising Framework.
3. Demonstrated experience delivering projects in partnership with internal and external stakeholders relevant to vocational education and training workforce planning and/or labour market research.
4. Demonstrated experience consistently delivering high quality verbal and written content (such as Project Reports) on time and to required standards.
5. Demonstrated experience delivering successful outcomes through collaboration and consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Demonstrated experience acting cohesively within a workplace and outcomes whilst exhibiting professional behaviour in line with organisational values.
7. Demonstrated ability to support and advocate company position(s) with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated experience planning delivering and forecasting key responsibilities and associated work activities within an area of responsibility to successfully achieve organisational requirements.
