Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:

Prepare and process regular variable and supplemental payrolls
Ensure accuracy of payroll data and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Administer employee leaves and health & welfare benefits including open enrollment and premium collection
Maintain payroll records and support reporting requirements (ACA EDD US Census GASB etc.)
Serve as a resource for staff and external agencies regarding payroll and retirement matters
Participate in payroll-related meetings and trainings
Collaborate with HR and finance leadership on payroll-related matters
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all employee-related transactions

Payroll Specialist Qualifications:

23 years of hands-on payroll experience (public sector or similar environment a plus)
Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
Proficiency in Excel and Google Suite; open to learning new systems
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Comfortable working with a variety of personalities across departments
