Job Summary

We need engineers to help define the way we build and test our products and features in a start-up environment. You will be the quality advocate to enable delivery of high-quality software in collaboration with top-notch research scientists software developers and hardware engineers. A day in the life
As a lab engineer you will be responsible for building and managing rapid prototypes and test equipment to support multiple areas of the program. An ideal candidate has a mix of skills and interests including networking IT mechanical engineering electrical engineering and software engineering and is interested in applying those skills to help build and maintain labs and test floors to develop and qualify a wide variety of products and technologies being developed at Amazon Robotics.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Experience with network equipment installation and configuration
- Experience troubleshooting and documenting findings or experience in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow
- 5 years of experience in mechanical electrical and system level lab management
- Knowledge and hands-on knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP UDP DHCP SSH SNMP Telnet and DNS)
- Masters degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience with lab safety security and quality practices
- Experience with managing robotics or mechatronics labs
- System design interfacing to a wide array of electro-mechanical subsystems and debugging experience
- Experience with configuring and maintaining VLANs
- Experience with 3D modeling packages (ProE/CREO SolidWorks) 3D printers and other prototyping equipment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
