The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Enterprise Services Research Center or BBN team:

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to work as a software and robotics test engineer to support research with experiments in the RTRCs autonomy laboratory. The candidate is expected to work on supporting all aspects of the autonomous robotic inspection systems to ensure functionality and robustness in the RTRC lab as well as for the systems deployed at RTX customer sites. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring the quality of the system operations and data collection process. The successful candidate will

What you will do:

  • Ensure autonomous systems perform according to necessary specifications. Confirm system operations output meeting quality requirements.

  • Design and execute comprehensive test protocols to evaluate system functionality accuracy and stability.

  • Document test results and maintain system configuration update records for later analysis

  • Support assembly and setup of systems by integrating mechanical electrical and sensing components.

  • Manage commissioning recommissioning and upgrades at RTX customer sites.

  • Performed image annotation and data labeling for AI model training.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for inspection system both in RTRC lab and on RTX customer sites.

What you must have:

  • A Bachelors degree preferrable with a major in Engineering with 2 years of full-time industrial experience.

  • The successful candidate will have deep expertise in both manual and automated testing across software hardware and integrated systems.

  • Proficiency in validating complex technologies including robotic inspection platforms to ensure performance reliability and compliance.

  • Designing robust test strategies that drive product quality and support efficient delivery of mission-critical solutions.

  • US Citizenship required. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with track record of teamwork adaptability and initiative

  • Clear and effective communication with all parties in the autonomous system development and deployment including leadership researchers and customers

  • Ability to focus on results in a fast-paced dynamic team environment

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary environment to accomplish project goals

  • Previous experience with industrial applications in autonomous inspection system is highly desirable.

The following position is onsite in East Hartford CT.

The salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.
