Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Charge Technologist Radiology and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the Porter Diagnostic Imaging is responsible for: transporting and assisting patients; attending to the needs of patients; documenting appropriate information; wiping down equipment and ensuring same is in adequate working order; ensuring rooms are properly stocked with linen; ensuring the adequate supply of oxygen tanks and changing them as required; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum six (6) months experience in a hospital or recognized equivalent health care setting as a patient porter or other direct patient care position.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.

Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to read write speak and understand English.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy patients.
