Inpatient Pharmacist Acute Care Hospital (Contract Minnesota Region)

Overview

A regional acute care hospital in the Minnesota area is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacist to support its clinical and operational pharmacy services. This long-term contract role involves verifying medication orders overseeing dispensing processes and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective medication use. The ideal candidate has recent hospital experience and is comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient environment. This 26-week assignment offers stable scheduling and competitive weekly compensation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify inpatient medication orders for accuracy safety and clinical appropriateness
  • Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital state and federal regulations
  • Provide therapeutic drug monitoring dose adjustments and pharmacotherapy recommendations
  • Participate in interdisciplinary communication to support evidence-based medication management
  • Review medication regimens for interactions contraindications and optimization opportunities
  • Support sterile compounding and non-sterile preparation as needed
  • Document interventions and medication-related activities within the electronic health record
  • Assist with medication reconciliation and transitions of care support
  • Respond to drug information questions from physicians nurses and allied health staff
  • Maintain accurate inventory control including oversight of controlled substances
  • Contribute to departmental quality safety and performance improvement initiatives


Qualifications

  • Active pharmacist license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Recent inpatient or acute care hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and proficiency with electronic medical record systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Up-to-date resume and professional references
  • Experience with sterile compounding preferred but not required


Work Environment & Schedule
Twenty-six-week contract assignment within a regional acute care hospital serving the Minnesota region. Full-time schedule; detailed shift information provided during the interview process.
