Description

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a physician anesthesiologist as the Chief of our Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia program. This is a full-time Open Rank non-tenure track academic faculty and clinician position. Individuals with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified generalists would be considered.



Responsibilities

Duties include direct patient care as well as teaching and supervising nurse

anesthetists and residents. Opportunities for clinical and basic science research are

available and participation is encouraged.

Other Chief Responsibilities Include:

  • To support the vision mission core values and goals of the institution through teaching service patient care and research.
  • Seeking to serve on committees and boards for state/federal government agencies

professional societies and/or within the College of Medicine.

  • Actively engaging in community service with students/residents.
  • Conducting basic or clinical research and/or other scholarly activities that will qualify for appropriate promotion and tenure.



Qualifications

EDUCATION: M.D. or equivalent degree. Completion of an accredited residency required with sub-certifications/training highly preferred.

LICENSES: Must be Board certified or Board eligible by the ABA. Eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee. Current unrestricted licensure as a physician in Tennessee. Current certification DEA number
