Description

The College of Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis invites applications for a full-time General Dentist Open Rank Professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene. This position reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Dental Hygiene.



Responsibilities
  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction to dental hygiene students.
  • Supervise and mentor students during patient care ensuring the highest standard of clinical practice and safety.
  • Participate in curriculum development assessment and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Engage in scholarly activities including research presentations and publications as appropriate.
  • Participate in departmental college and university committees and meetings as assigned.
  • Contribute to community outreach continuing education and public service programs aligned with the departments mission.
  • Maintain compliance with all accreditation standards and state regulations relevant to dental hygiene education.


Qualifications

EDUCATION: DDS DMD or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated experience in dental education or clinical supervision preferred. Commitment to excellence in teaching mentorship and service. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Prior teaching experience in a dental school setting is preferred but not required. Strong track record of excellence in teaching service patient care research and scholarship preferred.

LICENSES: Active or eligible for a dental license in Tennessee.
