Job Summary
We are searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Niskayuna NY! This position is located on-site and is full-time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and define project scope with sponsors.
- Work with a project team to develop specifications cost estimates and drawing reviews.
- Provide engineering support during the construction phase for buildings and utility projects.
- Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs construction documents and cost estimates.
- Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience performing mechanical engineering tasks.
- Development of contract documents calculations and cost estimates.
- Working knowledge of building codes and standards.
- Experience in construction administration (submittal review RFIs construction inspections etc.).
Desired Qualifications:
- Engineer in training (EIT) or PE license.
- Engineer consulting experience.
- Working knowledge of ASME codes.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems.
Security Clearance:
A current active DOE L Security Clearance is required.
Background Check and Screenings
A pre-employment drug screening and background review that includes checks of personal references credit law enforcement records and employment/education verification is required.
