The MoveUP: Reduce & Reuse Initiative at the University of Portland is seeking a dedicated lead student to oversee the programs logistics and operations. The initiative focuses on reducing waste during student move-in and move-out periods by redistributing reusable items and fostering a culture of sustainability on campus. This position will start January 2025 and you will be trained by the current lead students until the end of the academic year 2025/2026. The MoveUP director of operaetions will play a critical role in managing the program and coordinating logistics. More information about MoveUP can be found here . Minimum Qualifications
Freshman Sophomore or Junior status Up to 20 hours of availability during dead week finals week and fall move-in week and 2-4 hours per week during the remainder of the semester. Fully available for 1 year on campus (hybrid during summer 2026) Proactive forward thinking professional communicator with strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting Comfortable engaging with students faculty staff and external partners Willingness to be hands-on during move-in/move-out periods including lifting and sorting items Proficient experience using Microsoft office suite specifically Excel and Word and other software when necessary 1-2 page Resume Two references Cover Letter that includes: Why you want to join the MoveUP team as project manager. A challenge you have navigated in your life your approach and how you adapted. An experience where staying organized was essential. Your availability for the academic year 2026/2027
