A Commercial Lines Account Manager at an independent insurance agency plays a pivotal role in managing and servicing commercial insurance accounts. This position requires a blend of technical insurance knowledge client relationship management and administrative skills. Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary liaison between clients insurance carriers and internal teams ensuring client needs are met promptly and effectively.
  • Policy Administration: Handle all aspects of policy management including quoting binding issuing certificates processing endorsements and managing renewals.
  • Coverage Analysis: Review and analyze clients insurance needs providing consultative advice on coverage options exclusions and exposures.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the agency management system documenting all communications and transactions.
  • Collaboration with Producers: Work closely with producers to support new business development and ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
  • Client Education: Educate clients on policy terms audit procedures and risk management strategies to help them make informed decisions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Licensing: Active Property & Casualty insurance license is typically required.
  • Experience: Prior experience in commercial lines account management preferably within an independent agency setting
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with agency management systems (e.g. Applied Epic AMS360) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to address and resolve client issues and coverage questions promptly and accurately
