We are actively seeking a Drilling Engineer to join our Lloydminster Thermal team in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager Drilling Completions & Construction the successful candidate will be involved in the planning design and execution of our thermal projects. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the capital drilling program is delivered with operational excellence and disciplined risk management. Additionally you will support drilling operations by assisting the Drilling Superintendent with daily activities including reporting vendor performance analysis KPI monitoring and providing occasional on-call support.
Essential Functions:
Preparation of detailed and accurate well programs including:
Area offset reviews
Detailed cost estimates
Adherence to area Basis of Well Design while ensuring regulatory compliance
Accurate document management
Well optimization through:
Daily monitoring of drilling performance and rig KPIs
Vendor management
Project reviews and lookbacks
Evaluation of new technologies
Cross-functional review of well design to ensure full life cycle needs are being met
Development planning through communication with asset teams to effectively design plan and budget projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelors degree in Engineering and membership in good standing with APEGA or APEGS.
510 years of technical and operational drilling experience.
Experience in Thermal operations required.
Completions experience is an asset.
Strong project management skills with a solid understanding of project development and delivery processes are advantageous.
Demonstrated accountability.
