About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Cloud and Automation Engineer to design and deliver scalable secure cloud automation solutions for secure environments. This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders to create cost-effective resilient cloud-based solutions while identifying opportunities to streamline and improve existing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement automated solutions for cloud infrastructure.
Identify automation opportunities within software and business processes.
Develop and execute QA tests using scripts and tools.
Troubleshoot complex systems and ensure security measures are in place.
Collaborate across teams to enhance workflows through automation.

The Successful Candidate

To excel in this role you will have:

A degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
Strong programming and scripting skills.
Expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work in a high-security environment (NV1 clearance required; OSA highly preferred).

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT or Bendigo VIC.

Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date plus potential extensions

SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 3-5.

Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
