  • Lead operational and strategic initiatives across Academic Units in partnership with Heads of Academic Units and senior leaders in Sciences and Engineering.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems standards and business processes while managing day-to-day operations and implementing strategic plans.
  • Operate with high autonomy providing strategic advice and leadership across the Schools of Engineering and Geography Planning and Spatial Sciences

About the Opportunity

As an experienced Business Manager youll play a pivotal role in driving strategic and operational success across Academic Units. Youll support Heads of Academic Units in translating strategy into actionable plans lead the development and execution of business and resource plans and oversee performance against key metrics. Youll champion strategic initiatives manage projects foster a culture of safety and wellbeing and identify growth opportunities in collaboration with University partners. Whats Required

  • Demonstrated ability to apply well-rounded strategic and critical thinking skills consistently and proactively.
  • Demonstrated operational leadership experience within a complex commercial environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills including the ability to effectively liaise with all levels of the organisation and the ability to work in a flexible and collaborative manner to deliver successful outcomes in an effective way.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to devise creative and effective solutions and plans for a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and initiative to drive and implement changes to operations where improvements or efficiencies can be achieved.
  • Proven commitment to service-oriented values and ethical standards both in the provision of services and in working relationships.

Qualifications and Licenses

  • Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications and relevant professional competence and experience
  • Regular intrastate travel to our Tasmanian campuses.
  • Occasional interstate/ international travel may be required.

Whats on Offer

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 10 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $163282 comprising base salary within the range of $137494 to $139557 plus 17% superannuation.
