Summary: The Crane Rigging Lead at JTS leads the Rigging team in executing complex and high-risk lifting operations for generator unit assembly and related projects. This role serves as the primary point of contact for rigging strategy safety compliance and team coordination. It requires expert-level rigging knowledge strong leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. The Lead collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure all rigging activities meet the highest standards of safety quality and efficiency.
Accountabilities:- Lead daily rigging operations and coordinate team assignments.
- Oversee execution of critical lifts and multi-point rigging setups.
- Review and approve lift plans in collaboration with engineering and safety teams.
- Conduct advanced inspections of rigging gear and lifting equipment.
- Ensure proper load balance securement and compliance with safety standards.
- Operate aerial lifts and heavy equipment as needed.
- Supervise loading and unloading of components and completed units.
- Lead pre-lift planning risk assessments and safety briefings.
- Identify and resolve equipment or procedural issues.
- Maintain a clean organized and hazard-free work environment.
- Assist in implementing quality and safety initiatives and best practices.
- Report near misses and potential danger areas; assist in training employees on safety updates.
- Support emergency evacuation procedures and ensure team readiness.
- Mentor and train team members on rigging techniques safety protocols and troubleshooting.
- Support onboarding and development of new hires.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve rigging processes and team performance.
- Ensure documentation and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support rigging and assembly operations.

Required Knowledge/Experience:- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Valid Accredited Advanced Rigging Certification (required).
- OSHA 30 Certification (required).
- Minimum 5 years of rigging experience including leadership roles.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex rigging operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and blueprint interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Reliable attendance and professional demeanor.

| Work Environment and Physical Demands |
- This role is primarily based in a manufacturing and outdoor job site environment.
- Mobility: Ability to stand kneel stoop or crouch for 810 hours per day.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands to handle rigging tools and components.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs. All lifting should follow OSHA standards.
- Weather Conditions: Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the site safely and communicate effectively.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
