About the Role

We are seeking aforward-thinkingandhighly effective Head of CloudOps SREto lead the operational excellence and reliability of S&P Globals cloud and compute infrastructure across a multi-cloud estate (AWS Azure GCP).

As a senior technology leader you will be responsible formanaging a team of operational engineersto ensure the resilience security and performance of our cloud compute backup and storage services. Your primary focus will be on drivingSRE principlesto ensure platform availability whileidentifying opportunitiesto improve cost efficiencies performance and security. You will champion a culture defined bycustomer obsession agility and continuous improvement and spearhead initiatives ranging from strategic vulnerability remediation to the support of cutting-edge GenAI technologies for operational intelligence. This role requires a leader who can bridge high-level strategy with deep operational oversight to sustain world-class service delivery for S&P Globals vital products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Inspire:Direct and empower a team of operational engineers fostering a high-performance culture aligned with values like inclusion agility and continuous learning.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence:Own the reliability availability and performance of the multi-cloud (AWS Azure GCP) and on-premise compute and storage estate targetinghigh availabilityand ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Drive Security and Compliance:Oversee critical operational tasks including efficientpatchingrapid remediation of all critical vulnerabilities and proactive security enhancements to maintain a hardened and compliant infrastructure.
  • Strategize FinOps:Identify and supportFinOps strategies(cost optimization resource rightsizing intelligent tiering) to achieve significant and sustained operational cost savings.
  • Influence Strategy and Governance:Chair key leadership meetings and workshops to align divisional leaders on cloud strategy governance and DevOps alignment.
  • Champion Transformation:Drive major infrastructure programs including cloud adoption and the integration ofGenAI technologies(Azure OpenAI AWS Bedrock) to enhance enterprise product scalability and capabilities.
  • Measure and Report:Design and leverage detailed resource dashboards and metrics to enable data-driven operational decisions and provide actionable insights.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience (15 years) inCloud Operations SRE or Reliability Engineeringin an enterprise-scale multi-cloud environment (AWS Azure GCP).
  • Proven success inleading and mentoring large operational or SRE teams demonstrating a focus on organizational upskilling and cultural transformation.
  • Expertise in implementing and scalingCloud FinOps principles and toolingto deliver measurable cost savings and resource efficiency.
  • Strong technical background in managing large-scalecompute storage and backup estates with a focus on security hardening patching and vulnerability management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive large-scalemigration and remediation programsand operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Experience integrating or adoptingGenAI/LLM technologiesinto operational or platform capabilities is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional executive communication influencing and stakeholder management skills.
