A Day in the Life

Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes. Were a mission-driven leader in medical technology and solutions with a legacy of integrity and innovation join our new Minimed India Hub as Data and Privacy Analyst. As a member of the MiniMed Privacy team the Data & Privacy Analyst will provide high quality efficient and cost-effective privacy-related services including performing Privacy Impact Assessments Transfer Impact Assessments Records of Processing Activities and Data Subject Access Requests. The Data & Privacy Analyst will work directly with the business and internal clients to complete these activities and provide privacy support by simplifying complex privacy issues into easy-to-follow guidance.

Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. As a separate entity we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Conduct timely high-quality privacy assessments for new processing activities changes to existing activities and re-assessments as required by privacy standards. Coordinate with Legal on the development review approval and maintenance of these documents including exception procedures.
  • Collaborate with the MiniMed Privacy team business stakeholders and project owners to identify privacy gaps discuss remediation options and support risk-based corrective action. Provide routine status reports on remediation efforts for management and governance oversight.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Support periodic process assessments at the regional or business level as needed leading to program enhancements and risk mitigation.
  • Review and address inquiries from business teams and coordinate appropriate responses in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Monitor and assess program controls to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain and expand expertise in privacy and data protection and communicate new developments and their impact to program stakeholders and team members.
  • Foster relationships across teams and functions within the organization.
  • Participate in ad-hoc data protection and privacy projects as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree with five years of health care privacy experience or Advanced degree
  • Degree in Law privacy security or a related field or equivalent legal sector experience.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR CCPA HIPAA and similar standards.
  • Proficient in performing Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and responding to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
  • Experience with integrating Privacy by Design into information systems and recommending technical solutions to protect data.
  • Experience with software information technology or medical device development.
  • Experienced in supporting privacy training and compliance activities.
  • Strong communication skills experience with stakeholder engagement and partnering with the ability to clearly convey data protection and privacy issues to all organizational levels.
  • Ability to foster a strong data protection and privacy culture emphasizing risk management and operational consistency across technical teams and business units.
  • Effective project management and organizational abilities; capable of multitasking and managing large and varied workloads independently.
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPP CIPT or CIPM are highly desirable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Word Power BI and other Microsoft tools.
  • Working knowledge of risk management compliance programs and corporate communications.
  • Proactive detail-oriented and able to work independently with strong research and analytical skills.
  • Technological background including understanding of data protection in cloud environments and familiarity with legal technology and information security practices.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry supporting privacy security or risk functions in large regulated and matrixed organizations.
  • Skilled in cross-functional team communication and execution.
  • Familiarity or experience with data mapping.
  • Ability to think critically within legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience applying data privacy rules in a global corporate environment.
