Job Summary
Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Key job responsibilities
As a Satellite Communication (SATCOM) System Engineer you will be responsible for Customer Terminal (CT) architecture integration and validation with hardware software and firmware. You will work in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team including electrical hardware antenna simulation silicon algorithm firmware and software this role your responsibilities include:
Develop the CT architecture by working closely with sub-system engineers in electrical RF antenna modem DSP ASIC algorithm firmware modeling and software
Develop the validation plans build the validation infrastructure execute testing analyze data and report the results to the stakeholders
Investigate and resolve validation failures by leading cross-functional teams
Ensure the delivered work meets technical functional performance regulatory and business requirements
Perform in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites
Travel up to 10% of the time depending on project phases
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

As a SATCOM System Engineer on the Amazon Leo Customer Terminal Team you will work daily with electrical hardware RF antenna silicon and product design engineers as well as software and operations teams in a collaborative environment. Your focus will be on architecting integrating and validating customer terminal functional performance to ensure it delights our customers.
About the team
The Amazon Leo Customer Terminal team is responsible for developing both outdoor & indoor devices enabling customers internet service via the Amazon Leo satellite network. We own the entire process from early prototypes through mass production including requirements documents architecture definition hardware development and all integration/verification testing.
- Experience in automating deploying and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python Ruby Golang Java C C# Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience with distributed systems at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
