Software Engineer

Location: McLean VA (Hybrid)

Contract: (8 Months) Possible Extension

Only Prior Capital One candidates

Interview Process: 1 round 30 minutes looking at past work and 30 minutes to do a code pair etc.

30-45 minutes with a small panel and they will do some paired programming work during that. May just look at code together and talk through it a bit.

Job Description

LOB: They sit in IFX Enterprise Technology Customers are internal systems within the tower. Enterprise Feature Platform.

This is a migration project:

Joe is the main guy managing this team there is a transition and they need to get some feature development that they need to complete prior to the change.

They have built a new stack in Aurora DB will migrate from an existing Dynamo table and API to the new stack: Aurora DB written in Lambda with an API on top of it.

There are a lot of operational dependencies that they need to consider as well. Will migrate to a new schema then validate the quality of the new schema. They will be migrating new tenants to the new stack and then de-commissioning the new stack.

There are manual data efforts and meta data management tasks for when new tenants come in.

They will then transition the new Aurora Data Store to a new tower within MLX.

Job Requirements: Python AWS DynamoDB Aurora

Primarily a Python Development job. They need to regularly sync aurora with DynamoDB and that is an internal Python development project. Theres another smaller project: migrating and validating data from Dynamo table to the Aurora table.

Python exp: API development AWS Dynamo DB and RDS

Migration experience is nice to have there is some business logic that needs to be considered during the migration.

Extensive testing experience is needed as well (Integrated Unit Testing)

Nice to have: Machine Learning experience familiarity with how the software is written batch processing vs.
