This role supports a major statewide data modernization initiative for a leading New York State government agency. As a Senior Data Warehouse & Cloud Database Administrator you will be responsible for managing complex database environments optimizing enterprise data platforms and supporting mission-critical reporting and analytics systems. You will work across multiple technologies-DB2 Oracle Snowflake DataStage Cognos and IBM Cloud Pak-ensuring seamless data operations governance and performance across the organization.

You will collaborate closely with data architects developers analysts and data scientists contributing to large-scale data integration cloud adoption and advanced analytics efforts. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges working in hybrid environments and ensuring the reliability and scalability of enterprise data systems.

Responsibilities:

Database Administration (72 Months)

• Expertise in DB2 Oracle and Google Cloud databases.
• Skilled in installation configuration tuning backup recovery and security on bare-metal Linux environments.

Red Hat Linux (84 Months)

• Advanced proficiency in RHEL administration scripting and system troubleshooting.

Data Modeling (84 Months)

• Strong experience with data modeling methodologies and tools especially Erwin Data Modeler.
• Background designing and maintaining OLTP systems.

IBM Cognos Analytics (84 Months)

• Hands-on experience developing deploying and supporting Cognos reports dashboards and metadata layers.
• Familiar with Framework Manager Data Modules Report Studio and related components.

Oracle / DB2 / BigQuery Data Warehousing (60 Months)

• Practical understanding of data warehousing concepts and implementation.

IBM Cloud Pak for Data / Knowledge Catalog (60 Months)

• Experience managing configuring and leveraging Knowledge Catalog for metadata governance and lineage.

Data Integration / ETL (60 Months)

• Expertise in IBM DataStage for ETL design workflows performance tuning and execution.

Snowflake Data Warehouse (84 Months)

• Experience with data loading optimization performance tuning and query development in Snowflake.

AI/ML Concepts (84 Months)

• Understanding of AI/ML workflows data preparation model deployment and monitoring.

Communication & Collaboration (84 Months)

• Ability to work effectively with business analysts developers architects and data scientists.
